Retail system for CARHARTT
This project is a retail system designed for the clothing brand Carhartt. It was inspired by, and initially designed for, their store in the Born neighbourhood of Barcelona, on Carrer del Rec. The system is intended to be installable in any of the brand's stores. WIP Sistem covers everything the store needs, drawing on prior study of both the physical stores and the range of products the brand carries.
The design is built from a steel mesh panel held by a concrete base, with hooks that slot into the mesh to carry the wooden boards. The intent was to tie the system back to the brand, which has industrial roots — hence the style and the choice of materials.
A detail worth noting: the brand name is cast into the concrete bases. The design lets every piece be combined however you like, giving a range of arrangements to suit each store.
